Yin Yoga Teacher Training
40hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training
with Jamie Lee
Feb 17th, 19th, 23rd
March 19th, 26th
April 9th, 23rd
Satya Yoga Sutton

Yin Yoga offers a practice that targets and stresses different tissues in the body, that may otherwise not get worked from doing yang styles of asana. Meaning it focuses its stimulation on deeper tissues, connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body, versus just the muscular tissues (which we are calling the yang tissues).

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the more dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga, like ashtanga, vinyasa and poweryoga; making its application suitable for all levels and ages of students.

Our 40hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training is for anyone who wishes to deepen their asana and meditation practice, those wanting to learn some new skills and even those who wish to share Yin Yoga professionally. It is suitable for yoga teachers and practitioners at all levels of yogic experience.

We are all familiar with the concept of Yin and Yang and how these can reflect within our yoga practice. Vinyasa, power and hot yoga are represented as Yang, while more gentle and reflective styles of meditation/asana represent Yin. As a balanced approach to our current state of health in this age, Yin Yoga offers a profound healing modality for our usually jacked-up and weakened nervous system.

Bachelors in Kinesiology from McMaster University
Jamie is registered with the Canadian Yoga Alliance at the CYA-RYT 500 level.

Yoga found its way into Jamie’s life as a method of injury prevention while training for Triathlon and Ironman throughout university. Having made Triathlon Canada’s National team twice (junior and age-grouper), the motivation to race and compete slowly changed its focus from a health regimen, to a more holistic approach to health and happiness through yoga asana and meditation. Jamie has been intensively studying Hatha, Ashtanga and the Iyengar systems of yoga ever since. Currently his yoga teaching and philosophy draws wisdom from both the Ashtanga and Iyengar systems.
"Jamie's training was really constructive and fun, it brougt me to a different layer in my practice and approach to yin yoga. I would recommand this training to anybody who is interested in experiencing yin yoga from a organic and intuitive place. I specially appreciate the Iengar alignement influence on the poses and how Jamie liked it to the effect on the nervous system. I felt refresh and renew after all of the 3 weekend of training."
